Why I Opened Bridal House of Nashville: A More Personal Way to Find Your Wedding Dress

Part 1

When my daughter was looking for her wedding dress, I started paying just as much attention to the appointments as I did to the dresses themselves.

It wasn't that she was having a terrible time. It was more subtle than that. I remember watching dress after dress come out and thinking, “Does she actually like any of these?” I wanted someone to slow down and really listen to her. What was she drawn to? What wasn't working? What did she actually picture herself wearing on her wedding day?

Some appointments felt rushed. Others felt high-pressure. And sometimes, it seemed like the focus was more on finding a dress than finding her dress.

I kept thinking about that experience long after we left.

Eventually, I thought I could do this differently.

That was the beginning of Bridal House of Nashville.

I opened the boutique in 2020 because I wanted to give brides a different kind of shopping experience. One where you have time to talk, ask questions, change your mind, and figure out what you actually love.

We Believe in Listening First

I don't expect you to walk through our doors knowing exactly what you want. Honestly, most brides don't. That’s what we’re here for.

Maybe you've had your dream dress saved on your Pinterest for years, or maybe you have no idea where to start. The gown you ultimately choose may not look anything like what you thought you'd want.

All of that is okay.

My job isn't to decide what your dress should be. It's to listen, ask questions, make suggestions, and help you figure out what makes you light up.

That's my favorite part of every bridal appointment—the moment when it clicks.

It might be the dress you came in looking for. It might be a complete wild card. It might be a gown we've customized together.

It doesn't matter.

When you look in the mirror and suddenly know, “This is my dress,” that's the magic.

If There's a Problem, Let's Solve It

I've been sewing since I was eight years old, so problem-solving has always been part of how I think.

That might sound like a small thing, but it can make a surprisingly big difference when you're trying to find a wedding dress.

Getting married in a few months? We'll look at designers who can accommodate a shorter timeline.

Traveling with your dress? We'll help you find a fabric and construction that can handle the journey.

Working within a specific budget? We'll find beautiful options that respect it. That's why I'm also very intentional about measurements and sizing. We take the time to determine which size will work best for your body and require the fewest alterations whenever possible. We also provide an alterations menu, so you know those costs upfront.

You should know what you're getting into before you say yes.

Looking for a modest wedding dress? We carry designers who specialize in creating gowns with more coverage.

Plus-size bride struggling to find gowns you can actually try on? We have an extensive curve collection because you deserve to see yourself in your options, not just imagine them.

If you happen to find a dress you love but wish it had a few changes, let's talk about that, too.

We work with designers who are happy to customize their gowns, and our in-house alterations let us take things even further.

If we know the problem, we can find a solution.
